Spent the weekend working like a maniac trying to finish my web-making webpage about the word web. I decided to link distant words, which meant integrating a c++ app with the php page. The app was too slow so I turned it into a server only to find out that my hosting service won’t let me open up another port so the script can communicate with the server. Boo. Now I know how to do it, however.
Today I have big plans. It all seems like it’s up and working on the site. A little slow but I can’t justify making it faster now when no one’s using it. I want to implement caching better (currently modified strings don’t cache […wait, maybe they do. Hmmm…]). Also, I want to try and reimplement the path finding algorithm to find paths based on weak links instead of strong ones. I suspect that will make infinitely more interesting graphs.
I’m trying to not go into the studio today too. I need to go to the drugstore, the drycleaners. Ok. I want to get some of this stuff out of the way!
